In Bangladesh, 60% of community members within a 17-kilometer radius benefit from information provided by Krishi Radio, the only government community radio in the country. The radio station provides farmers with agricultural information, helping them make timely and informed decisions. Moreover, radio is a gadget that they can easily use and operate. The institutionalization of Krishi Radio as a government-run initiative and its function as a primary communication tool of multiple organizations in Bangladesh make it a sustainable and reliable information tool for Bangladeshi farmers.

Is community radio used in your region by farmers’ groups? What other communication media are used to help with rural communication services promotion in your region? Let us know by joining the chat and commenting below.
