The 2013 World Social Forum (WSF) took place from 26 to 30 March 2013, in Tunisia.

The World Social Forum is an open space where social movements, networks, NGOs and other civil society debate on contemporary issues such as biodiversity, climate change, ethnic and cultural diversity, colonialism, militarism and relations between labor and production.

A delegation of more than 30 journalists of community radios from Tunisia, MENA, Africa, Asia Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean, North America and Europe covered the events of the WSF and broadcasted information on the activities, participants, debates and alternatives strengthening civil society approaches to development and democratization.

Civil society perspectives were brought directly to local communities in English, French, Portuguese Arabic and other languages. The coverage was also the result of a collective and collaborative effort of the World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters (AMARC) with Inter-Press Service (IPS) and Panos West Africa. To listen to the radio programs visit the WSF audio section on AMARC website.

Furthermore, AMARC was one of the main organizers of the 3rd World Forum of Free Media (Tunis, 24-30 March 2013) which involved hundreds of media representatives from community radio and non-profit media with the main objective to promote freedom of expression and communication rights all over the world.
