Description: The Swedish Program for ICT in Developing Regions (Spider) is a resource center for ICT for Development (ICT4D). Spider was established in 2004 and is based at the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences (DSV) at Stockholm University.
Capacity development initiatives: The Spider ICT4D seminar series aims to collect and share ICT4D knowledge from around the world. Speakers in the series are well established scholars, practitioners or activists, who share their views and experiences on a broad range of topics, including Spider's thematic areas of democracy, education, and health. The seminars are web cast and stored on Spider's Vimeo channel at http://vimeo.com/channels/272654.
Spider also supports Master Students at Swedish partner universities with travel grants to do fieldwork in developing countries for their thesis work in ICT4D.
