Swedish Program for ICT in Developing Regions (Spider)

Description: The Swedish Program for ICT in Developing Regions (Spider) is a resource center for ICT for Development (ICT4D). Spider was established in 2004 and is based at the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences (DSV) at Stockholm University. Capacity development initiatives: The Spider ICT4D seminar series aims to collect and share ICT4D knowledge from around the world. Speakers in the series are well-established scholars, practitioners, or activists, who share their views and experiences on a broad range of topics, including Spider’s thematic areas of democracy, education, and health. The seminars are webcast and stored on Spider’s Vimeo channel at http://vimeo.com/channels/272654.

Spider also supports Master Students at Swedish partner universities with travel grants to do fieldwork in developing countries for their thesis work in ICT4D.
