The School of Environmental Design and Rural Development brings together major academic fields concerned with creating strong communities. Capacity Development and Extension offers a range of undergraduate courses and a distance education certificate program in the Communication Process. At the graduate level, the MSc in Capacity Development and Extension focuses on development communication, capacity building, communication technology, adult learning, facilitation, and leadership.

MSc in Capacity Development and Extension covers a broad range of topics including rural extension theory, adult learning and development, capacity development, interpersonal communication, communication technology, and international extension. A variety of learning formats are offered by the program including independent study, seminars, a practicum, international courses, and research colloquia.
Certificate in Communication Process: Bridging Theory and Practice helps you become a more successful communicator, through both verbal and nonverbal strategies, leading to more positive outcomes in both personal and professional settings. The Certificate program is delivered entirely online by experienced faculty who provide an innovative, engaging and flexible approach to learning.
