On February 13th World Radio Day is celebrated worldwide. This year, in recognition radio’s ability to reach the widest audience worldwide in the quickest possible time, the theme of World Radio Day 2016 is “Radio in Times of Emergency and Disaster”. This year’s World Radio Day(13 February) celebrates “Radio and Youth”. To raise awareness on this important issue, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) and the World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters (AMARC), have launched an online discussion aimed at exploring the role of radio and community media in the lives of rural people in West Africa.
