UNESCO seeking partners for international seminar

Dear Friends, Colleagues, Partners, In line with the FCCM action plan, and its approved programme, UNESCO is planning an international seminar on community media sustainable policies and funding models in 2015. Following the FCCM discussions last year in Rome on community media, this invitation for partnerships intends to facilitate good practice, experience exchange, policy recommendations and support for business models and funding mechanisms. The idea is to invite speakers that can inform an international and focused audience about the complementary role community media offer as public value, opportunities and challenges of independent funding mechanisms, good practice business models, regulation and policy. Partners and sponsors are invited to support geographic and sector representation, i.e. a balanced mix of duty bearers, actors and stakeholders - from donors, regulators to community radio and farmer representatives. Post your opinion and let us know what priority areas you feels should be addressed and by whom. Best regards, Venus Venus E. Dear Partners and Friends,
Based on what we have identified as contributions to the strategic initiatives and opportunities for collaboration to promote ComDev and rural communication services, I am pleased to confirm our College's commitment (with the blessing of our dean) to serve as coordinator in hosting the CCComdev platform and dedicated FCCM page. This is among the areas of work listed in the action plan.
Aside from animating and maintaining the regular features/services of CCComdev, we will also be facilitating this FCCM virtual space (fccm.cccomdev.org) that will include on-line discussion to share information and knowledge as well as shape up joint undertakings in line with the action plan.
Likewise, we encourage everyone to be actively involved particularly in policy dialogues concerning ComDev's and community media's role in family farming.
To guide us, we uploaded the FCCM Action Points for the priority areas of work where we can choose to participate. These areas include: FCCM facilitation and advocacy, knowledge sharing and networking, research, capacity development, and support to programmes and countries. This is a list in progress, you may still want to add something. So in line with your respective mandates, we hope you will not miss to be part of this global initiative.
We will be glad to have you in this page... let us hear from you!

    Mario Acunzo Dear Cleofe,
Thank you for the commitment of the UPLB College of Development Communication in this undertaking. The hosting of the FCCM dedicated page under the CCComDev portal is a valuable contribution to the work of this newly established community.
    Kind regards
