Call for chapters: Handbook on ICT for agricultural development

Mohen Singh Naorem (Manipur University, India) and Telem Matouleibi Chanu (Central Agricultural University, India) are inviting researchers and practitioners to submit a 2-3 chapter proposals for the Handbook of Research on ICT for Agricultural Development on or before March 30, 2013

e-Agriculture is an emerging field focusing on the enhancement of agricultural and rural development through improved information and communication processes. More specifically, e-Agriculture involves the conceptualization, design, development, evaluation and application of innovative ways to use information and communication technologies (ICTs) in the rural domain, with a primary focus on agriculture.

The editors aim to provide a complete and reliable source of information on recent advancements in the field of ICT in agriculture and rural development analyzing the impact on farming communities and stakeholders. The handbook is intended to guide professionals, policy makers and non government officials who are involved in ICT projects, adoptions, evaluations and applications for agriculture. Moreover, it will provide students, scholars and researchers in the field of community development, agriculture and mass communication with useful background information and materials on curricular offerings.

Important dates for submissions:

  • March 30, 2013: Proposal Submission Deadline
  • April 30, 2013: Notification of Acceptance
  • June 30, 2013: Full Chapter Submission
  • August 30, 2013: Review Result Returned
  • October 30, 2013: Final Chapter Submission
  • November 30, 2013: Final deadline
