Forests for People Short Film Contest

200 million people. 193 countries. One amazing portrait of how forests sustain us.

Forests for People is a short film contest organized by the UN Forum on Forests Secretariat, together with the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival. Everyone, in every part of the world, is invited to create and share a personal film about their relationship with the forest and how it inspires, shelters, nurtures or makes life possible.

Every type of media, from video cameras to mobile footage, animation to photos, is welcome. Participants don’t have to be professional filmmakers. Everyone, everywhere, can tell her/his story in no more than 5 minutes.

How to participate

The contest ends on 22nd February 2013 (DEADLINE EXTENDED!)

An international jury will select 15 semi-finalist and five finalist films to be premiered at the April 2013 meeting of the UN Forum on Forests in Istanbul, and at the 2013 Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival.
