The Rural Communication Working Group of the International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR) invites the submission of proposals for papers and panels for IAMCR 2022. The conference will be held online on 11-15 July 2022 and will be hosted by Tsinghua University and Xi’an Jiaotong – Liverpool University in Beijing. The deadline for submission is on 9 February 2022, at 23.59 UTC.
The theme for this year’s conference is “Communication Research in the Era of Neo-Globalisation: Reorientations, Challenges and Changing Contexts.” The working group invites papers and panel proposals that “bring a critical lens to rural communication from a range of disciplinary and thematic contexts.” In particular, it expects to have sessions on the following topics: communication for rural development in Climate Change, Environment, and Health; rural communication in the Era of Neo-Globalisation; and critical analyses of methodologies in rural communication.
