The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO-UN) Rome, the College of Development Communication of the University of the Philippines Los Baños (CDC-UPLB), Digital Green, and CCComdev concluded their five-day Participatory Video (PV) in Agrifood Systems and Digital Environments Training of Trainers on October 26, 2023.
The training sessions were held on October 19, 23, 24, 25, and 26 via Zoom. A total of 45 participants from 16 countries underwent the training. As part of their final activity, they identified priorities and opportunities for capacity development in participatory video in their organizations.
The first run of a modular training program, the Training of Trainers aimed to provide guidance in designing, organizing, programming, executing, and evaluating participatory training workshops. A community of practice via WhatsApp and a Google Site complemented the Zoom synchronous sessions.
The training will be followed by a series of regional participatory video trainings delivered through regional Communication for Development initiatives such as ComdevAsia, Yenkasa Africa, and Onda Rural.
Serving as mentors were Dr. Mario Acunzo, Mr. Alberto Troilo, Dr. Maria Stella Tirol, Ms. Ayushi Singh, Dr. Edmund Centeno, and Dr. Trina Leah Mendoza. The training support team was composed of Mr. Paoloregel Samonte, Ms. Sophie Treinen, Ms. Catherine Leotecart, Ms. Elena Cerrai, Asst. Prof. Rosa Pilipinas Francisco, Asst. Prof. Ryan Jay Galang, Ms. Juvy Leonarda Gopela, Ms. Zane Andrei Cortez, and Ms. Sandra S. San Carlos.
